Meet the team: A quick Q&A with Dr. Greg Sher, CBD Chiropractor

Dr. Greg Sher is the Clinical Director of Sydney Spine and Sports Clinic. A keen cyclist, proud dad and Dad-joker; he treats patients at the CBD and Double Bay clinics.

What inspired you to become a chiropractor?

I’ve always loved sport. I’m also fascinated with how humans move and function. When I discovered chiropractic as I was picking my profession, I was so excited I immediately started dreaming about it. I knew it was the perfect job for me. Even after treating patients for 20 years, I still get a kick out of diagnosing a patient’s dysfunction and helping them correct it!

What are your qualifications? Do you have an area of specialty?

I have a master’s degree in Chiropractic with a special interest in treating sports people, office workers and students. In other words, anyone who works in front of a device all day! I also love to treat extremity joints – hips, shoulders, ankles and the jaw are my favourites.

How do you keep mobile?

I cycle, run and do duathlons. I also do the occasional gym workout -- if I can fit it in between running, riding, work and family!

Name one thing you'd recommend the average person does to look after their spine?

Just one? There are quite a few easy and simple things you can do incorporate into your day to help protect your spine. My big tip for everyone is to be aware of your posture and movement – don’t stay in one position all day. So, stand more if you sit all day - or sit more if you stand all day.

What's your favourite poor pun or dad joke?

Well, I just love to crack people up so I have quite a few! Seriously though, I just love turning heads at work.
